It's sad that the deep emotional effect fiction has on us can't be talked about seriously in "normal" irl circles. Since my alterhumanity isn't spiritual I can't speak on what it's like to mourn someone from a past life, so I won't. All I can say is that what happened to your friend is horrible and sad and I hope you'll be okay. As someone who lives in mundane irl life too, I do think grief due to fiction is a topic that should be more socially acceptable. Everyone who's engaged with fiction, 'kin or not, has been influenced by it. It strikes me as very weird that no one realizes that giving comfort to someone who's been hurt by "fictional events" would be a good thing to do. We could all use a little bit of that comfort sometimes.
